3 Strategies That Will Make You Money as an Affiliate Marketer

If you want to learn how you can make some money as an affiliate marketer then you are in the right place. We are going to share 3 different methods of earning affiliate income.

Affiliate marketing is where you promote other businesses’ products and you get paid when your lead performs a specific action as requested by the affiliate company. This can be the sale of a product or the completion of an action.

The 2 main categories of affiliate companies are pay per sale, pay per action. The pay per sale category pays you when your referral makes a successful purchase. The pay per action category pays you when your referral completes a specific, agreed-upon action such as, but not limited to:

  1. Filling out a form
  2. Downloading a software application

Regardless of the model which you end up going with, you will need a way of driving traffic to the affiliate offers. In this article, we are going to be looking into relatively quick methods of earning an affiliate income.

By quick, I mean methods that will allow you to start seeing results within a few days to a month. These timeframes include the time it takes to set up the particular system. Now, let’s jump in.

Building and Growing a YouTube Channel

YouTube is a platform that is growing in use and popularity and if you play your cards right, you can expect to see some results within 3 to 6 months using the method I am about to outline. These are the steps that you will follow in order to implement this method.

  1. Pick a niche
  2. Conduct keyword research
  3. Create Content

Pick a Niche

Step number one is to select a niche that you want to target. In some instances, you already have a product in mind and you want to see whether it is a viable niche. In that case, you will start at step 2. Once you have the niche chosen, your next step will be to conduct keyword research.

Conduct Keyword Research

Your next step will be to establish whether or not the particular niche is viable. To do this, we use a technique called the alphabet soup method to look for under-served keywords that you can create content around and rank quickly.

Let’s say the niche you have chosen is dog toys for the Shiba Inu dog breed. You can type the phrase Shiba Inu toys and see what other related searches come up. Create a list of these keywords in a spreadsheet or notepad.

List as many as you can. A list of 50 is a good start. Pick the one key phrase from the list and enter it in the search bar on YouTube and conduct a search. Look through the results and see if the particular key phrase is well served.

If there are no results that directly answer the search query, you have a winner. List this in a separate notepad or highlight it in green on the spreadsheet. Do this for all the keywords looking for the under-served content.

Next up; conduct thorough research on each keyword in order to create content around. After that, record your video. I recommend that you check out a channel called Channel Makers where you will learn how to make YouTube videos and grow your channel effectively.

Create your videos and post them at least once a week. Make sure to put a call to action in the video telling people to click on your affiliate link in the video description.

Running a Blog and Promoting it on Pinterest

The next method I am going to talk about is blogging. Most people are familiar with blogging and waiting for Google to do its magic then rank your website for your target keywords. This is a great approach at affiliate marketing but the problem is that it takes at least 4 to 7 months before a new blog begins to see significant traffic.

If you are patient enough, you can go through this process but sometimes, you need to see results quickly. If that’s the case, you can make use of Pinterest to drive traffic to your blog. Pinterest can bring a flood of traffic within the space of a month.

For this method to work, create a business account on Pinterest. This will allow you to post what is known as rich pins. These are pins that allow you to insert a web URL back to your website. When you use this method, you will start to see traction after about a month of regular posting.

Paid Traffic and Mini Site Method

This is the final and quickest method to implement. For this method, create a mini-site that has 5 to 10 articles that are informational and then promote your affiliate programs all over the mini-site. Next, you set up a paid ads account on Bing that you will use to drive traffic to your website.

This method works best with Bing because Google is stricter when it comes to promoting affiliate content using paid ads. Driving traffic to a mini-site with content pre-sells the visitor and warms them up improving the chances of them actually converting to buyers.

With this method, it will take you roughly 1 week to set the website up and once you start running ads to your site, you can start seeing sales within hours.
