Canva App

One of the advantages of Canva especially for social media graphics is that you have templates with the right dimensions for the various social media platforms. I have been doing graphics design for a long time now and one of the time consumers are figuring out which dimensions work best for specific platforms.

This is all taken care of in Canva without you having to look it up and enter the dimensions. Canva also gives you a host of output options when you are exporting your graphics. You can export to jpeg, png, various PDF options, Animation and the recently added mp4 video to the mix.

They have really become the all-encompassing option for anyone wanting to create cool graphics and short videos.

Enhance Your Photos with Canva Graphic App

If you have photos and you want to add that extra little something to them, you can do that within Canva. There are a host of filters and image enhancement options like duotone that will make your otherwise normal photos stand out from the crowd.

Comprehensive Stock Photo and Video Library

I started using Canva about two years ago and it didn’t have as much as it has now but, even then, was a really amazing tool especially when I compared it against other free and low-cost graphics applications on the market.

One of the draw backs back then was that I had to go to www.pixabay.com to download any stock photos then upload then to Canva. Not anymore. You can now access free and paid stock images and videos right from inside Canva without the need to leave the platform.

Share Your Graphics to Social Media

Over and above the different export formats, you can also share directly to social media platforms like Pinterest, Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, We Chat and Slack.

You can also save your files to One Drive and Mailchimp. You can even download your designs ad PowerPoint presentations. I know what you are thinking, this is an all-encompassing platform and can it get any better? Well, it seems it can.

Does Canva Have a Downloadable App?

Canva has an Android app where you can create on the go all from your mobile phone. How’s that for convenience? Unfortunately, though, they do not have anything yet for iPhone, Mac or PC. With the way they have been making significant improvements over the years, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before we start seeing these apps soon.

Can I Use Canva on My Computer?

There isn’t an app specifically designed for your computer but if you run Windows, you can use an Android emulator like Bluestacks which allows you to run Android Apps.

Conclusion

Can Canva do more than established desktop applications like Photoshop, Illustrator or CorelDraw? It doesn’t. These applications are more powerful and more flexible than Canva and it will be difficult to knock off their perch.

Where Canva beats them is the newbie friendliness and the relative ease with which you can whip up graphics for social media. I consider myself a graphics design veteran but when it comes to creating graphics for my websites and social media, I just use Canva Graphic App.
